Celebration of St. Sava in Wellington – New Zealand

Category: News

On Saturday, January 27th, the Saint Sava temple in the capital of New Zeland ceremoniously celebrated its patronate saint. The ceremony began with the Holy Liturgy, which was lead by the fr.Meletius from the sacred archangel monastery in Levin, with Fr.Predrag. After the Divine Liturgy and Litija around the temple, the Slavic cake was prepared, which was prepared by the hosts of the  Basic family.

Part of the cake was handed over to the family for the next year the Lovrić family. After cutting the cake, the children showed and demonstrated how far the path of St Sava was deeply rooted in the Serbian soul. Recitations, poems, and stories that our children with so much love prepared for, nobody from the audience left him indifferent. At the end of the program, the whole church sang the holy anthem and showed that the path of the Holy Sava is kept and respected in the country under the sigh of the Southern Cross far from beloved Serbia. Then the VOX SERBICA choir sang a series of sacred and folk songs. After the ceremonial lunch, the atmosphere faded with brotherly love and warmth for socializing continued long after the formal completion of the ceremony.
