Category: News

On Tuesday evening, 11th October 2016, the Vespers service at St George Church in Cabramatta was sung by the Serbian Choral Society “Jedinstvo” (eng: Unity) from Banja Luka (Republic of Srpska), conducted by Mr Nemanja Savic.

The parish dean fr Djuro Djurdjevic presided at the evening prayers in presence of very reverened fathers Dragan Maksimovic from Banja Luka and Miodrag Peric, Nenad Djurasinovic and Nemanja Mrdjenovic from Sydney as well as around fifty parishioners.

After the service Fr Djuro greeted the esteemed guests and gave them a small token of appriciation in the name of the Church Community in Cabramatta. Fr Dragan spoke in the name of the guests and the choir responded with St Sava hymn sung from the ambo.

Later on the congregation moved to the Church hall where dinner was served by the Circle of the Serbian Sisters followed by a long evening of singing well known Serbian patriotic and spiritual songs.

Choral Society “Jedinstvo” is the oldest active Serbian Choir, founded in 1893. It will sing in Cabramatta again on 22nd October at the enthronement of our new Bishop, His Grace Siluan (Mrakic).
